The Foundation’s Purpose
- To assist in serving the educational and developmental needs of those individuals interested in pursuing surety and fidelity bonding as a career, or those who are seeking to enhance their capabilities while engaged in such careers.
- To foster and promote the surety and fidelity industries as viable career choice and to recognize those companies in the industry who have made significant contributions to the furtherance of this objective.
The SFAA Foundation is a charitable organization focused on increasing diversity within the surety and fidelity industry. Recognizing the value of diverse ideas and backgrounds, the member companies of The Surety & Fidelity Association of America (SFAA) created the SFAA Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3), to fund and administer the Surety and Fidelity Industry Intern and Scholarship Program for underrepresented college students, as well as develop and implement other diversity-driven educational and public service programs.
Surety & Fidelity Intern and Scholarship Program
The Surety and Fidelity Intern & Scholarship Program was created to encourage diverse college students to consider the surety and fidelity industry as a career of choice. The program gives underrepresented* college students the opportunity to work with industry experts through paid, professional internships with our member organizations. Upon completion of an internship, students are eligible to apply for a $5,000 academic scholarship.
Donate to the SFAA Foundation
SFAA Foundation’s activities are supported through contributions from four primary sources – surety and fidelity industry companies (both underwriters and agents/brokers), other companies and organizations outside the industry, individuals, and local surety associations. You too can help by making a tax-deductible donation the SFAA Foundation. Donations like yours support Surety and Fidelity Intern & Scholarship Program, which provides financial assistance and internship opportunities to underrepresented students who might consider careers in surety and fidelity bonding.
Contractor Bonding Education and Mentoring Program
The Contractor Bonding Education and Mentoring Program, formerly known as the Model Contractor Development Program, helps new and minority contractors learn how to become bonded and provides additional coaching through a mentoring program with SFAA and NASBP.
